I would describe my style of painting as expressive. Through the process of painting,
I am able to express my emotional nature. Art has been a way for me to explore the depths of my subconscious mind, finding out who I am and how I feel about life.
I often paint women. In my experience there is a lot of healing needed for the female body, many women have suffered physically or psychologically pertaining to their bodies. I paint women to honor what we’ve been through and to discover a deeper meaning to beauty. My goal is to find beauty in all that happens, even the painful experiences.
Each time I start a piece, I invoke Spirit to show me what I want to create. It is a meditative process. I like to paint on the floor, so I can move around the canvas easily. I really get into it using my hands and arms to move the paint around.
It becomes a dance. I’m very tactile and enjoy how it feels. My intention is to discover something new about myself and to honestly share what’s in my heart and soul.
For me, art is my ultimate form of communication.
